My younger sister was in the Air Force for six years. She was at the end of her term when she was put on the weight program. She has lost the weight and now wants to return as an officer. Our dad thinks that it is too late for her (she is 34 and has been out for 10 years) and he really doesn't want her to go back. Does she have any chance of getting back in?

She has no chance.

You can be waivered to age 32, with prior service.

But not age 34.

The Air Force wouldn't take her as an officer, not after being chaptered out as enlisted.

More than likely, no other service would take her as an officer either.

I believe all branches will let people as old as 35 join or rejoin, but since got put out do to a weight problem she may have to sign a waiver to get back in, your best bet is to ask a recruiter for details.

I'm retired military and one thing is absolutely certain, nothing remains the same for any length of time. Tell her to see the recruiters, emphasis on the plural. There is no way of knowing or predicting what is needed from one day to the next. The recruiters have those needs sent to them on an almost daily basis. And tell her not to forget the Coast Guard. It's a different mission but you still have the JAZZ.

I just recently rejoined the marines and I was active from 1994-1998. I was out for 10 years it was fairly easy.. She needs to contact her prior service recruter

My cousin retired from the Air Force as an e-6 and he was 45 pounds overweight. It's not that I'm doubting you, but it just seems odd that she was kicked out for her weight.
