Ok, my family is broke, my mom is single, she lost her job. So what is the best way I can get the part-timr job I want, besides just filling out an application. Or at least what would you do if you were desperate for a job.

Check local newspaper listiings for part time openings, or use hotjobs.com or monster.com to find part time positons available in your area.
Most retail outlets, stores, and restaurants hire part time workers on a regular basis - try going to the ones you like and see if you can fill out an application. Particularly with the holidays coming up, it's a good time to find part time work.

Sometimes there are employment agencies which have part-time jobs available.
When using those agencies, do not give them any money yourself. Let them take their fee from the company which hires you part-time.
