I think it was George Burns who once said that all the people who have all the answers to the world's problems are cutting hair and driving taxi cabs.
In this century, I think they're all on the internet in chat rooms or in Y/A.
The only solution is for Palestine to work on nation building rather than nation destroying to its neighbor and gain statehood and allow Israel the right to exist. Then Israel and Palestine live in peace as neighbors.
What other POSSIBLE solution would be acceptable to SANE, civilized people who SINCERELY want to live in peace and not raise another generation in a damned WAR ZONE?
How to bring that about in my lifetime? I don't know. if I knew that I'd be making world headlines rather than rambling my head off in Yahoo Answers.

Since the conflict is rooted in the unrealistic premise that an all-wise supreme being gave the same "holy" real estate to two different faith groups, I'd say the only effective solution is a playoff match.
Ladieeeeeeeeeeessssssssssssssss and
Gentlemennnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnn,,,,,,,,,,,,
ALLAH VS. YAHWEH..... in sudden death overtime!!!!!!!!
(*crowd noise*)
Best two out of three miracles takes it all.
Independent non-monotheist judges only (Dalai Lama?).
Losing deity agrees to depart for other realms of existence (and hopefully take His faithful with Him). If only one deity actually produces any miracles, the other forfeits and is hereby declared a fiction. If no miracles occur in the specified match time... it's double-imaginary elimination.
The land belongs to no one and the various parties will just have to work it out sans annoying claims of "divine right."

Wall of separation, akin to the Berlin Wall.
Actually... two walls.
With a one mile buffer between the walls.
The buffer is a no-go zone.
Keep them separate, and they won't fight.
Out of sight, out of mind.

I think you will actually like this one.
I personally do not agree with every single part and some things I would do differently, but it is the best plan I have ever heard of.

The only realistic solution is one state for all like most other nations.
All other solutions will not work and if they do it is only temporary. The country is to small to be divided. One free constitutional democracy for all is the right solution. Both sides will hate my vision of peace. Both do not know any better so far.

Let the Jews have all of Israel, plus parts of Saudi Arabia. That's for the many years we have been oppressed.
EDIT: I made a mistake. We want parts of Egypt, too. Hope that makes you feel better. :-)
