My cat is about 6 or 7 years old. When we first got her as a kitten, he eyes were a pretty green. Now her left eye is brown and the other is still green. Is she going blind or is that normal?

Human peoples' eyes change colors when they age a bit (when I was a kid, my eyes were blue and now they're more green than blue), so perhaps cats' eyes do, too.

What I'd look for is see if your kitty is favoring the normal-colored eye. Does she seem not to be able to see things out of the other eye? Does that eye's pupil dilate in bright light or does it stay the same shape? If it's not changing with light (like a human's eye does) or if you're just worried about her, you might go to a vet and have them look at it to be absolutely certain.

Good luck!

That is odd. Usually a cat's eyes don't change after they reach adulthood.

I don't think your cat is going blind. But there is a condition that sometimes causes the blood vessels in the eye to rupture, and so cause darkening.

If you're worried, a vet would be better equipped to give you a diagnosis. But I don't really think there's a problem.

it is usually a sign of blindness. i know that white cats with blue colored eyes do tend to become blind later on in their lives. i would think in your case it would be the same being that only one eye has changed. your vet would be able to tell. it might just be a rare thing-due to age. so i wouldnt worry...but at your next vet apt. ask.
