I think you're on to something here. His miracles were very "small time" and could be reproduced by average men and women in today's world.

Not even that.

The evidence points to him being a fictional character, with a story based on the mythology of mythras. Indeed, it was the followers of mythrasian idealogy who first switched to Christianity (namely the Roman centurions and guards) and it was this that caused the Roman Empire (or at least half of it) to adopt Christianity as an act of pragmatism.

Considering that Blaine (you misspelled his name) and Chris are "street" magicians, and there were no streets, per se, back then, they probably would have had to get real jobs. ;)

Seriously, though, charlatans such as those two were as easily exposed back then as they are now. Without their camera tricks and other high-tech gimmicks, the pseudo-magicians wouldn't be able to pull a veritable rabbit out of a hat.

And you should be more careful about comparing a religious icon with hucksters. I know you were just trying to incite a "flame" war, for whatever jollies you'd get out of it, but you won't last long on this site with such malice of forethought (speaking of charlatans . . . !). So, straighten-up or ship-out.

Well, I don't think David Blane is trying to get anyone to believe he is god.. so no.
