Depends.....on helicopter type and optional equipment installed ( auxillary fuel ) but....
for the most part, small helos (R22 , S-269, Rotorway, R-44) carry about 3hr-4hrs fuel and most cruise at around 100mph (90kts) so around 300-350 statute miles....
Funny enough...the endurance even on larger machines doesn't change too much...
Bell 212 with one aux tank = 1800lbs Jet A...
Burns 600-650lbs/hr....= 3 hrs @100kts..300nm
Similiar endurance for S-76, A-109, ..
Just about 90% of civil helicopters carry between 3-4hrs fuel..

Everone is different. Look up the R22 helicopter. It and it's sister are the most popular amongst novice helicopter pilots.
