Islam and oversensitivity?

Just Before I begin , I'm not being rascist/ Narrowminded / Ignorant or anything But,,,

Does noone else get annoyed by the way over-sensitive Muslims treat people so they dont get offended! Im not picking on any individualsor the whole group becasue I know the majority are just normal people , Just The few that do things like
1- Ban peopel from saying 'Merry christmas' becasue Its offensive to Allah. Is banning saying that not offensive to jesus?
2- The whole teddy bear situation. Who would get offended at that?!?! Would a christian get offended at someone naming A teddy Jesus?, Yet they ruin a womans life by putting her in jail!
3- When communities move over to the UK , then complain about band parades/Marches because its nothing to do with them!

Yes, muslims are too busy trying to make others follow their own stupid religion to realize they are doing exactly what they say they don't do. I am sick to death of the PC garbage that's going on right now. I just wish someone would nuke Mecca and put an end to it all. Muslims have never said that saying Merry Christmas is offensive to Allah; not saying Merry Christmas has nothing to do with Muslims.

As I said before, I don't think the teacher committed any crime deserving punishment but I don't think Christians would be happy if a Teddy bear was named Jesus...would you?

I have never heard Muslims in the UK complain about band parades or matches. Have you?

I think you have asked a very relevant question.

Hyper sensitivity, whether in an individual, society or religion stems from a feeling of insecurity, persecution mania.

I find some of the views/stands of the Muslim establishment difficult to stomach. Is the Prophet so powerless that his followers have to shed their own and, worse, others', blood to protect his reputation? The sickening similarity between Catholic-Protestant massacres and Shiya-Sunni feud makes one wonder about the understanding of Jesus and the Prophet(Blessed be His Name) among their followers.

About the parades/marches/processions:
In my country religious processions(an ubiquitous event as we have many religions with many million 'believers') disrupt road traffic, increase policing cost and invariably end up in riots. I would dearly love to see the day when all communities agree to take their religious observances out of public thoroughfares and let the rest of the world get on with earning their daily bread, taking their critically ill to the hospital or just enjoying their vacation.

That would require the powerful vested interests to look beyond themselves and the mindless masses to think for themselves. Looks like a tall order.

Yeah! Like no way is my taxes going to pay for prayer rooms at the major airports so Muslims can pray before they get on the airplanes!

This Teddy Bear punishment in Sudan really gets to me, The government wasted no time correcting this Britain Teacher,
who I believe her class named the bear Muhammad. She gets 15 days in jail and 40 lashes and deportation??

I'm sure the children will be totally confused now!

But the government can't do anything to help the people that are being torture, starved and raped, and this is their own people.

its not over sensitive its sharia law in Sudan,the teacher maybe should have researched the Law before moving there..like many people who move to foreign countries they straight away assume everything is legal,whereas some countries have strict or relaxed laws for different things..

I wouldn't say that all muslims are like that, but maybe the ones you have run into are. Basically, lets put it down to this: the media right now focuses on the extremists of this religion and not on the large peaceful majority of people. Think about it for a second.

Amen, if you don't like Christmas don't celebrate it. Why is it offensive to celebrate the birthday of our Savior?
I will say Merry Christmas, and as for Muslims being more devoted, that's probably because you don't know true Christians. I don't think naming a bear Muhammed is the same as naming it Jesus, it's more like naming it Moses, and telling it to a Jew. Because Muslims don't believe Muhammed is God.

Sometimes Muslims need to recognize that not all jokes are intended to be racial in any way,shape or form. They get easily offended like the teddy bear incident..but I bet christians wouldn't like it if some Muslim Cartoonist found it funny that Jesus was a dog or some other filthy animal.

You know something? I find it hilarious that people call people that criticize Islam/Muslims racist. Has it ever occurred to them that Islam is not a race- but a religion. So, even if you are bashing Islam, that doesn't mean you're a racist. And yes, they are way too sensitive.

They feel much stronger about their religion and are more devoted to worshiping Allah than most Christians are to worshiping God. They pray at dawn, noon, mid-afternoon, sunset and nightfall. It is just a way bigger part of their life than a lot of people can understand I think. They were just raised with religion as a HUGE part of their life. If you feel very very strongly about something it is hard not to get upset if you feel it is being insulted.

I also think that generally in their country's since most people are Muslims (There are Christians and Jews though) they wouldn't be used to having their religion nearly as much. Here in America there are a lot of different thoughts on religion because we come from so many different ones. So pretty much everyday we hear jokes made about our religions and if you are on R&S you are probably going to be insulted a lot, especially if you are Christian. I think it is just that we get used to the disagreements on religion here because there are a lot. Think about how it used to be back 4 or 5 hundred years ago. You could be killed if you spoke out against the Bible, church, or God because basically everyone believed the same thing and didn't take kindly to insults of their beliefs.
