Yes, there are things we should hate.
Luk 14:26 If any man come to me, and hate not his father, and mother, and wife, and children, and brethren, and sisters, yea, and his own life also, he cannot be my disciple.
the word hate used here is from the greek word ( miseho ) which means to detest or by extension to love less.
Rev 2:6 But this thou hast, that thou hatest the deeds of the Nicolaitanes, which I also hate.
Rev 2:15 So hast thou also them that hold the doctrine of the Nicolaitanes, which thing I hate.
Ecc 3:7 A time to rend, and a time to sew; a time to keep silence, and a time to speak;
Ecc 3:8 A time to love, and a time to hate; a time of war, and a time of peace.
Isa 61:8 For I the LORD love judgment, I hate robbery for burnt offering; and I will direct their work in truth, and I will make an everlasting covenant with them.
Jer 44:4 Howbeit I sent unto you all my servants the prophets, rising early and sending them, saying, Oh, do not this abominable thing that I hate.
YES INDEED HATE EVIL!!! The word used hereafter is the hebrew word ( sawney ) which means to hate utterly.
Amo 5:15 Hate the evil, and love the good, and establish judgment in the gate: it may be that the LORD God of hosts will be gracious unto the remnant of Joseph.
Amo 6:8 The Lord GOD hath sworn by himself, saith the LORD the God of hosts, I abhor the excellency of Jacob, and hate his palaces: therefore will I deliver up the city with all that is therein.
Zec 8:17 And let none of you imagine evil in your hearts against his neighbor; and love no false oath: for all these are things that I hate, saith the LORD.

hmmm hate evil.. I believe we are all made up of good and evil.. We make choices constantly about what's right or wrong to do. So, no, I don't think we are supposed to hate evil. I think we make a choice not to do evil things even though we may think of them. It's almost like you have to embrace the evil part of you as well as the good in order to balance yourself. Hate is an energy. So why waste energy hating evil or anything else? I don't like seeing evil things, especially when I can't do anything about them or change them. It's very upsetting. The old adage.. Change the things you can and have the wisdom to know the things you can't. I think I'd rather say I am AWARE of evil and try to PROTECT myself and others from evil.

God is the God of H AT E!
That is he -h at es- evil, with a perfect -h at red-.
We are made in the image of God and are brothers and sisters of Jesus.
We must -H AT E- evil!
I have to do that with the letters of many words because this LT has a block for my friends children.
Anything that is not glorifying to God could be considered "evil"
Every thing we do that is part of the "normal" function of the flesh, is glorifying to God because he created us.
When you eat with thanksgiving, it is glorifying to God.
Smell a flower, pet a dog...Do all your normal daily activities with a thankful heart.
We are to avoid even the appearance of evil.
After 30+ years as a borne again believer, I'm still not exactly sure how to deal with that, though I'm sure there are some bible thumpers who would be more than willing to lay some laws on me concerning that .
No thanks.

the christian and the jew are to hate evil, and evil is defined as that which causes harm and leads people away from the saving knowledge of Jesus Christ.
People say, hate the sin, love the sinner. The bible says, that the patience and love shown by God toward us, sinners, should lead to godly repentance (turning from sin) and that we can find loving God because he first loved us.
that said, hatred of evil is not a license to destroy life as some assume, and forgiveness is not a license or reason to turn your eyes from punishment for the one who commits a crime. It is possible to forgive the sinner, but the consequences of the crime still carry a punishment.
some wrongly assume we should love the sadistic killer and forgive and forget the crime. No, we love the man/woman and preach Christ's message of forgiveness by God, but there is still the civil/legal issue of the crime committed. Forgiveness is from God, by God and for God, but the offense must be dealt with. That is the consequence.
I speak from a christian point of view, for i do not accept any other that does not deal with the moral, spiritual and social issues of crime in society. To not do this is to create a world where mercy does not exist, and crimes are punished with cruelty that is above and beyond what is warrented.
after people started calling islam a religion of peace, which it is not, pictures of kids having their body parts crushed for punishment in various areas of the world by islamic courts started popping up on the internet.
the punishment will certainly hamstring the person from committing any crime again in the future, but it does not address restoring the offender into good standing with society, nor does it change the nature and character of the offender to conform to the image of Jesus Christ that will prevent such crimes in the future.
that say, some can not hate evil without manifesting it themselves, and that too is profoundly sad.

Don't you need to define "evil" first? Is it a perception, a specific act or an attitude? Is an earthquake evil? Is stealing bread for your starving children evil? Is someone else's charitable giving to a political campaign YOU don't like evil? Or is "evil" just a synonym for "anything I hate"?

The Word states "If you abide in Him and He in you" you will walk in the Light and not in the darkness. You will HATE evil. And all that it stands for. Not the people for we are to SHOW Love toward them as Christ did us. It is the sin we stand against. We are told to walk in the Spirit not in the flesh which often wants ti sin or commit evil acts.

Evil is subjective based on the individual - what one person sees as evil seems good to another.
That said, i do hate some forms of interaction between humans, and they could be viewed as 'Evil', yes.
Try not to judge people for who they are, instead judge them for their actions, that's what i say.

Sister:)
The More we are infused with the Lord as believers through feeding of the WOrd of God and drinking of Him in spirit the more we will be flavoured according to the Lord indwelling us.
Should we hate evil?
As a believer I do. But we learn how to see behind persons, situations, circumstances, things and see the evil one BEHIND them. So should I hate a person that is evil. No..I should pray for that person. Had it not been for the grace of the Lord I may be worse than that person.. ten times!
Someone prayed for us:)
But to guard ourselves dear sister we need to first of all have a sharp discerning spirit in order to pick up on things that are evil. Some evil things come under the guise of " good" things. Harmless things...Remember in Genesis, the Tree of Knowledge had BOTH Good and Evil as its fruit. There was not one good fruit and one evil fruit. Satan sometimes hides behind supposedly good things. Both Good and Evil are opposite to the Tree of Life. Its a deep kind of truth that I think the Lord needs to take us to see.
To Eve the serpent seemed harmless enough and satan was cunning to come in the form of the beguiling serpent. Disguising his evilness under a creature that Eve did not feel uncomfortable around.
He does that to this day. Hiding behind so many things that we probably would not think he would be a part of but he is.
May we be so sensitive in our spirits to " shun the very appearance of evil" .. not just the evil but things that even appear evil.
We need to flee from evil things, evil environments, evil situations. Evil would never leave a person untouched and neutral. Its not like satan to pamper a christian and leave him to " love Jesus" ...The evil one satan has an agenda. To steal us..kill us and then destroy us. But Praise the Lord sister dimple:) Our Lord ever lives and reigns to intercede for us. He is our Shepherding One going before us. Checking out the situation and alerting us as we abide and follow Him.
Just quickly. I want to share this with you. Its something i heard when i was a teenager from a brother. He as sharing on the Lord Being our Shepherd. He was saying that before a shepherd allows His flock to feed on a pasture land He will walk all over it and look for holes. For two reason. A lamb or sheep can easily have their hooves stuck in a hole.. but more crucial to the shepherd was this. He took His oil flask and he would pour oil into each hole in case of a serpent crawling up the hole to bite the sheep while it fed on the grass. Rather than have the ability to crawl up the snake would slither back down because of the slippery oil.
See how our Lord looks out for us sister. He is our Shepherd walking steps before us and He is the Overseer and Bishop of our souls. The One who sees things from a High bird's eye view.
So lets stay close. And hate what He hates... and love what He loves.
Very good and interesting question,
Your sister

A heart made by God can not hate. God's image does not know hate.
We must gather truths from Truth if we are ever to overcome the beliefs associated with a seeming mortal existence or "life." The human "mind" has inverted all things, and calls them true.
