I was at my new girlfriend’s home and I noticed they didn’t match. Do I ask her to fix this?

Brittany - Great point! Changing the color to match the season is a great idea! Red and Green for the holidays would be ohhh so nice.

I prefer non-carpeted floors, so the drapes can really be any color.

Drapes can match:
1] the furniture colors [ upholstery or bedding cover in bedroom ]
2] the carpet
3] mix of both
4] or be neutral

well it really depends on what color the carpeting is. Like with the carpet in my bedroom and living room are like a cream color so i can put any color drapes especially when decorating for the holidays

Most folks seem to be going for the smooth bare flooring surfaces these days. It's kind of a fad. I rather prefer a nice, lush low-pile carpet in natural tones. You know, the kind where you just want to get down there and run your fingers through it.
I don't really care for shag though...

If it bothers you that much, see if you can get her to get rid of the carpet altogether.
