Yes, it's very normal. I've noticed that it's more common in smaller dogs.

My Shih Tzu has it.

yes, some dogs do. it's due to being nervous or the owners giving the dog TOO much attention when they're home and the dog would be so used to that attention, it'd get stressed when it's home alone with no one around. seperation anxiety is best treated with crate-training.

Some do. I have 2 dogs, one gets very anxious and requires loads of 1on1 attention when I return (especially if I've been gone all day or longer), while the other is just normal - indifferent when I leave, happy when I come home.

Yes they do. That explains why some of them chew your stuff up when your gone. A way that you can make it so they dont get seperation anxiety is when your about to leave the house, dont say bye to them or anything. You just have to ignore them when you leave to go somewhere

Yes! My dog does not act normal if a family member goes away for longs periods of time and he stares out the window and whines. He is waiting for them to come home!

Absolutely. And no it doesn't matter the breed of dog, more like how it was raised and how much time you spent. My dog has it. Though it's cute sometimes, quite annoying. I spent too much time with it while it was a puppy and now it knows nothing other than people.

I have heard most dogs do.With mine ,a few months after I got her,(she stays inside and potties on puppy pads)She started playing and tearing up the potty pads all over the room.Scolding her did no good.I started throwing some extra newspaper in the room and she tore it up and left the puppy pad area alone after a week of trashing it.now she is good,no more messes.

Absolutely. Animals need touch and companionship, etc, as much as we do. Animal babies do not like being "left" either.

This is why dogs will tear things up and create messes sometimes. Boredom, and anxiety of being left alone.

YES - MOST DEFINITELY. Dogs get very attached to people and when the person leaves, the animal gets upset. If another dog it was raised with dies, the reamining animal will also grieve. I'm serious.

I have a poodle now I can not leave her for long ether. They have feelings also....just how they see things we will never know. I do know they do have emotions.
