Wrong its the passion of Christ just as the title say's no one can kill God if they could then they would be God . Christ gave his life freely no one could take it from Him . It was boycotted by Jew's and Christians because they failed to see the reasoning of the film.

The point was to illustrate the suffering of Jesus, which, according to Christianity, is what saved mankind from eternal damnation.
I personally thought the film was pretty bad. Mel did way better when he made Braveheart.

By the way, Jesus chose to die- yes, people "killed" Him, however I can say that He could have saved Himself if He really chose too, however He didn't - He came to earth for the purpose of taking upon Himself the cross, to die in our place so that , if WE choose , we can live eternally with Him. By the way, the Golden Compass- kills God and the devil has the victory- in REAL life my friend, Jesus was killed, however He is not dead= HE ROSE FROM THE DEAD- to complete our victory over sin and death- read the bible = HE WINS, not the devil,

Wow that's a pretty clever insight for an Atheist! :)
You are correct - killing God is exactly what humanity wants to do every day! We got to do it in person while Jesus was alive, but even today we kill God every time we ignore him and follow our own corrupted will instead of looking to him for guidance. We wish he didn't exist!

Well, it was the retelling (with some license) of the last days of Jesus' life, so it's history. Don't you ever ask your parents what they and their parents did when they were younger?
It was murdering the human form of Jesus--He didn't die.
