It's called "Battleground God". I just took the quiz and it was very eye opening for me. It really made me have to think. If you do take the quiz, please share how it went or what you thought of it. I took four direct hits but I didn't bite any bullets.

They also have a quiz called Do-It-Yourself Deity, but I haven't tried it yet. If any of you try it, please let me know how it went and what you think of it. Thanks.

Yes, the test does sometimes force you to choose the lesser of two evils. The presenters of this test admit this before you start. However, even with this in mind, was there anything about this test that perhaps caused you to take a look at your beliefs in a new or different light?

Yay Pangel!

Hey, it wasn't just Pangel who rocked this test. Way to go you guys! As for me, I need to take some time and re-evaluate my beliefs. :(

Either I REALLY sucked at this test (which I'm not saying isn't possible), or the other people who didn't do so well have decided not to post and admit to it.

Enigma,
Of course you did perfectly on the test. I wouldn't expect any less of you. After all, you are a Capricorn. ;)

Thanks for the info, Lord Set. I guess I won't make fun of him now (well, not any more than I already have). By the way, I really like Enigma or I wouldn't give him such a hard time!

I'm glad you enjoyed it Todd. I wish I could actually take credit for coming up with it, but as you know, I bombed the darn thing! I'm thinking it's because I refused to bite the bullet. If I had just bitten that darn bullet, I probably wouldn't have taken any more hits. This should teach me not to be so stubborn. “Should” is the optimal word here.

Interesting little "activity"

One direct hit, one bit bullet, medal of distinction.

I understand their point in asking what they did, but its asked from the purely logical point of view . (Okay the fact that I actually SAID that has made me smile).

My faith allows for the instance of a "square circle" and that 2+2 =74. No, its NOT rational in human experience. But I really do believe that physics and math and logic (as we know them) are local phenomenon. That is, local to our part of the universe. SOMEWHERE, out there, in the infinite universe, a circle can be square and 2+2 equals something other than 4.

They didn't even approach any cosmological examples. Had they applied logical probability in a cosmological sense, I think that they will find that they MUST leave room to what APPEARS TO BE irrational.

But hey, that's just me.

peace respects regards

Cool! Here are my results:

You have been awarded the TPM medal of honour! This is our highest award for outstanding service on the intellectual battleground.

The fact that you progressed through this activity neither being hit nor biting a bullet suggests that your beliefs about God are internally consistent and very well thought out.

A direct hit would have occurred had you answered in a way that implied a logical contradiction. You would have bitten bullets had you responded in ways that required that you held views that most people would have found strange, incredible or unpalatable. However, you avoided both these fates - and in doing so qualify for our highest award. A fine achievement!

EDIT:
A Mercer: That question says "evolutionary theory MAY BE false [emphasis mine]." The term "May be" is the key. If you think evolution is true on all points, then you should answer true for the question. Believing that evolution is completely true is covered under "may be false".

EDIT 2:
Congrats to Pangel and Todd for having consistent beliefs.

The way some of those questions are worded it's a little tricky. I had to re-read a few before I answered. I did notice that when it did refer to God the questions said "she". Odd.

Congratulations!
You have been awarded the TPM medal of distinction! This is our second highest award for outstanding service on the intellectual battleground.

The fact that you progressed through this activity without being hit and biting very few bullets suggests that your beliefs about God are internally consistent and well thought out.

A direct hit would have occurred had you answered in a way that implied a logical contradiction. The bitten bullets occurred because you responded in ways that required that you held views that most people would have found strange, incredible or unpalatable. However, because you bit only two bullets and avoided direct hits completely you still qualify for our second highest award. A good achievement!

I'm sure that not everyone would agree with my answers but I was consistent.

Very fun thanks.

I have a problem with one of their questions so far.

Evolutionary theory maybe false in some matters of detail, but it is essentially true.

This one can be deemed true or false depending on who is reading it. A scientist who believes that there are false parts of the evolutionary theory will find theory to fix those parts. This is a question that is used to bash the person over the head later on. It is a misleading question. I do not believe that the theory of evolution is false on certain points. However, if I say that statement is false, then it can be said that I am saying that the theory of evolution is not true.

This is like requiring you to answer only yes or no to the question, "Have you stopped taking drugs?" No matter how you answer, you will be admitting that at one time you have taken drugs.

This test is flawed.

Another problem with their comparison is saying that believing in evolution is comparable to believing in god. However, there IS evidence to back up evolutionary theory. There is none to back up the belief in a god. There is no contradiction there. Now, come up with some evidence to support a god then you can make the comparison.

Still, the question is flawed. There is no way to truly answer false on it. If you answer false, as it is written, you are saying that evolution is incorrect. The "may be" does not matter. The question still is asking whether or not the person believes in the theory of evolution. Yes or no, there is no maybe in it. Now, if we were allowed to answer a partial true or a partial false then it would be much better.

I went through this twice. The first time I went though I rec'd two bullets biting and no hits.

Not to be a party-pooper, but the second time through I answered the first question as "Don't Know" and then went through answering False to almost everything and got through without the a scratch.

I was doing fine until the game claimed I contradicted myself because, while there is strong evidence for evolution, there is no solid proof. This is a misstatement of fact, as the mountains of evidence when taken together do constitute solid proof. Unless they are trying to say that solid proof is seeing it with your own eyes, they need to reassess. I ended up with two bitten bullets.

Well, the wording of it could be improved as it's a little ambiguous in some cases and that led to it making an incorrect assumption about me, but my beliefs line up perfectly when you read the explanation of why it thought so.
