Go to a vet to find out what the problem is. Animals don't just get skinny for no reason, and ols age isn't a reason in iteself.

Well 11 years old is getting up there for a basset hound. I would say the dogs sense of smell and taste is not they used to be. I would get some food that is really high in fat (such as performance food for hunting dogs) and get some of the flavoured gravy in a squeeze bottle that you can put on the food. This should make it tasty enough for almost any dog. Median longevity of Basset Hounds in the UK is about 11.4 years. So be prepared.

Take her to the vet for a checkup. Take a poop sample with you to check for worms and parasites. If she has a clean bill of health, consider feeding a natural, holistic food; Canadae, Prairie, Newman's, Innova. It is more nutritious and she can digest all of the food she eats instead of part of the meal being just fillers. Try adding a little cold pressed flax seed oil to her food. It will be good for her skin, her body and adds calories. Not much, a teaspoon to start.
See how it goes after this. If she is healthy and you feed her good food twice a day, likely she will gain some weight. It's better for older dogs, especially Bassets to be not fat.

It might be a bad case of worms...where the worms are eating more of the food than the dog is. Then check the protein level on the food you are feeding. It might not be getting enough protein if you are feeding a super cheap food. Or you could have other medical problems, not solved by just "feeding." The next step should be to a vet.

did u just get her, or have u had for 11 years?
either way u need to feed her...**DUH**
if she continues to lose weight then she might have an internal parasite or some other unknown hidden problem...then u need to take her to the vet.
give her soft food and shell inhale it fast... u dont want to feed her alot though, like dont feed her till she stops eating becuase she might eat to much adn get sick just give her medium sized portions a couple times a day and watch her progress.
if nothing changes, take her to the vet, cancer,heartworms...sometimes just depression after losing a family member(of the animal species lol) may make them lose weight even when they are eating.

Take her to the vet and find out WHY she is super skinny.

Perhaps it's not enough exercise (loss of muscle), perhaps it's a poor-quality diet (senior dogs need more quality protein to maintain weight and muscle), perhaps it's cancer, could be lots of things.

See your vet. She may have worms, or her food may need to be changed. It may simply be a matter of feeding more, or she could be truly ill. No way for us to tell...
