You just said that an atheist was a person who denies the existence of God.
but then you said
''this does not mean they hate God''
So that must mean they're not atheist because they acknowledge He is there.

The definition of an atheist is someone who believes in the non-existence of any deity. There are no gods.
Not all atheists are anti-religion. There are atheistic faiths, some forms of Buddhism and animism for example.

This does not mean Atheists can't pray.
This does not mean Atheists believe in evolution.
This does not mean Atheists hate god.
This does not mean Atheists can't believe in ghosts.
This does not mean Atheists are suicidal, angry all the time or miserable.
