Is there enough there to ask her out? How do you know if it's too late?

We talk day to day and she's done stuff like tapped my arm in the hallway and when we walk out of a class together sometimes she holds my arm. She's a couple months older then me though, which may not appeal to her. Also, if it means anything she's called me "her bestest friend" in a playful kinda way in front of some of my friends.

Just do it! You'll never know unless you try, and the worst she can do is say no. Nothing ventured, nothing gained. It's never too late to try, although I wouldn't ask her if you know she has a boyfriend. Be yourself, be cool about it, and go with it.
