I am getting a tat tonight. I was wondering if you are suppose to tip your tattoo artist. What if it is the owner? Does that make a difference? And how much? Thanks!!!!

Yes, you need to tip the artist. For anything over $100, I usually throw in an extra $20. Anything under $100 - I would tip $10.

Also, I don't tip anything over an extra $20, I think $20 on top of 100% cash payment is more than enough.

If I was getting work done in the $500 range, I probably wouldn't tip at all because thats alot of freaking money that they are pocketing!

Yes, you should tip the artist. How much depends on the size, the quality of the work, and how much time they took with you. I'd say to tip at least 15%, more for a really good job, especially if you plan on going back for more.

Depends on how much you are paying and how difficult the tat is. If it ends up really great, $20 would be acceptable for an average size tattoo.

Yes tip. At least $20 if you really like the tattoo.

tuff question. I have 2 "tramp stamps" and for one the dude refused my tip offer. for the second the tramp stamp artist accepted. Same place, 2 weeks apart.

I'd say you should always offer, and i go 20% with all my tips

I'd tip the guy, unless it is the owner of the place. Customarily you do not tip the proprietor of an establishment.
