I have little lotions and shampoo bottles and jammies set aside, but what did you find was essential to bring when you were having your baby?

I totally overpacked for my hospital stay, but here's what I found useful:

Socks, flip flops for shower, clothes to wear home, shower gel, toothpaste, toothbrush, mouthwash, maxi pads (unless you dont mind the hospital kind), camera, pen & pad or notebook to log your baby's feeding and diapers or to take notes or fill out forms, hard candy (like lifesavers or jolly ranchers), baby's outfit, baby blanket, car seat, cell phone & charger, money for snacks or food (for day after in case your spouse doesnt have a chance to go to the bank), the "what to expect the first year" book and any breastfeeding books you may have (if you choose to breastfeed) for reference if you can't speak to someone about any concerns or questions at the moment something comes to mind.

An outfit that was 2 sizes bigger than what you were before you got Pregnant, so you can go home in it. Though I never gained any weight with my first one, but at least I knew I had clothes to go home in. : )
What I call Hair Bobbies = things to fix your hair up pretty so you feel special, cause you are.
Comfortable shoes. A coat If it is in the cold weather. The babies car seat. Warm and new clothes for the baby. baby blankets. Hospital gives Diapers, I think? Pads or whatever you use, cause some of us dont like using those HUGE one's the Hospital gives out, til we get home.

Socks, for both of you. Underwear, like a weeks worth. Dont bring the lotions, you dont want to use them on the baby yet. He has natural oils on his skin from being in the womb, and you dont want to mess them up yet, the protect him better than the lotions.

What else, a camera... umm.. a great big t-shirt for yourself while you're in labor, nursing pads, OH! your own period pads for your heaviest flow. The ones at the hospital are soooo big and thick that they hurt. The thin ones work great, the overnight ones.

Pack your maternity clothes from your 5-6th month. Thats the size you'll be for a few days after.

I cant think of anything else.

Clothes to wear home...Stretchy pants or sweats or work out pants...something that would have fit you when your were 6 months pregnant...don't go packing your skinny jeans...lol

Also, hair ties, hair clips something to keep your hair out of your face

I also brought my tums and chapstick....(these things cost a million dollars at the hospital and the tums...you'll need to get a prescription for...so bring your own if you suffer from heartburn)

Slippers, those hospital floors are cold...and the slipper socks the hospital gives you SUCK

Extra undies (old yucky ones that you don't care about)

Clothes and blankets for baby including socks and a hat

A Camera

Clothes for the daddy if he's going to be spending any time with you there... (I brought an overnight bag for both of us, my hubby spent all three nights with us there in the room

That's all I can think of right now...lol...

a phone list of all the people you'll wish to contact regarding the good news. A car seat, and extra clothes for the baby. You may want to bring a lil makeup, as you'll end up with a lot of pics that you'll be proud to show for the rest of your life!
Congrats!

A flannel not only to mop your head coz you'll be hot but also to bite on!
Apart from that there wasn't anything else I took that you probably already have packed.

Good luck x
