If you think that is bad in the UK, milk comes with a warning that it contains milk and egg that they contain egg. The first time I seen it I nearly choked laughing.

They only put it because some woman a few years ago said that she drank the coffee as soon as they gave it to her, and it burned her mouth. NO DUH!!!?? is what I think. She was at McDonalds. They got sued and they had to pay money to her. That was stupid, I think, personally, that she was that stupid. I think she did it on purpose to get the money. So now, she McDonald's has to put Caution! Coffee is hot! on their cups. Every other restaurant follows because someone could to the same thing to them. I think that they must be a dumb blonde or something.

Lawyers are so stupid that they sued McDonalds for $Million$ and won because the coffee was hot and there was no warning. That's why we have the warning: lawyers

Yep, like G U C said, that elderly lady burned her lips and tongue on McD's coffee. She got millions for it.... If I owned an establishment that sold coffee, I'd put it on my cups too. It's better than paying some person who doesn't think fresh coffee is hot, millions!!!!!

Actually this comes from a specific lawsuit against, if I remember correctly, McDonalds, where a woman was burned because she spilled her coffee and claimed she didn't know it was "hot".
After that the disclaimers appeared, so no one else could at least claim they weren't warned.
A lot of stupid disclaimers arise from lawsuits like that.

All it takes is one dumb person winning a law suit and suddenly everyone has warning labels to protect themselves from another stupid law suit.

All of the warnings out there are because someone didn't know! Like don't use your lawn mower to trip your bushes! REALLY!! Or use the hair drier while sleeping!

Apparently. Sometimes, when I look around, I'm not entirely sure how we survived as a species.
