Most artists charge you between $50-75 JUST to sit down in the chair - and the cost of the work goes from there...

This price covers the cost of the sterilized needles, ink, gloves, etc. - as well as any SIMPLE sketcking/designing (and in some cases, the first 15 or 30 minutes of work).

For $100 - you could probably get a simple piece of "flash" (the designs that are either in books - or on sheets psoted on the wall). Think of the stereotypical "Heart on the buttcheek" tattoo that girls (used to) go and get (usually with a group of their friends) ;););)

Sure, there are $100.00 tattoos. Most tattoo artists charge by the hour - I've seen some go for less than $100/hour, and the better ones go over $200/hour. You can typically get a pretty good artist for about $150/hour. Total cost depends on the size of the tattoo you want - say about three inch x three inch tattoo would take about an hour, depending on how much color, how much detail, etc. Don't forget to tip your artist, as well!

Yes...my small one was only $40.00. The price depends on whether or not the tattoo includes color or lots of shading, but the main factor is the size of the tattoo. A tattoo without color or lots of shading will be less expensive...with that said, obviously a smaller tattoo will be less expensive. The tattoo I have on my back is about the size of my fist with red coloring and a lot of shading. It cost me about $120 if that's a good marker for you.

how much a tattoo artist will charge for his or her work is entirely up to the tattooist. if you're going to a studio, you'll probably be charged for the initial drawing, plus a per-hour fee, depending on how long the work takes to complete. that said, you don't want to compromise yourself by not having it done professionally, where everything is sterilized. i suggest finding some tattoo studios' websites online and finding out their price ranges.

yes, and there are some that cost several hundred. It depends highly on WHAT kind of tatoo you are getting (black ink or adding coloured ink), the design (how detailed), the size (how big or small) and WHERE you get it done, (as in, which tatoo shoppe). ♥

Depends on where you get it and what it is of. Mine was $85 for about a 2.5" square area, black and white. Color is always more.
