If you look at what I've done for a living, it would be pretty tough to get my work to come to me.

I don't feel like opening a restaraunt out of my kitchen, the licensing to open a bar out of my game room is kind of out of the question, I really can't see heavy equipment owners bringing their machines to me to work on, and while I can get away with some idiocy in my neighborhood, I don't think anyone's gonna laugh and say "that kid," when I start installing jet fuel tanks.

So, imagine; you're not gonna commute. How do the groceries get to the store? How does the delivery boy get from the store to your home if he doesn't commute. Domino's might try mail order pizzas, but wouldn't be able to ship them because UPS workers would decide not to commute. You wouldn't have the electricity to run your computer because people weren't commuting to the powerplants or substations, meaning you'd have to commute to your office anyway.

Some of us find ways around the traffic, and some follow the herd and invest in an automatic transmission because they get tired of shifting gears after a traffic jam or two.

Judging by California traffic, I would say it hasnt worked yet...
I moved to where I am within walking distance to work - and I love the relaxing walk home

Yeah, its totally stupid to go to your job and earn money and pay bills.

Its one of those facts of life. Sometimes you have to drive to work. Sometimes it takes a little longer. You deal. If the job isn't worth it you stop and find something closer.

I guess you work at home, making commuting unnecessary. However not everyone has that luxury.

So what exactly are you suggesting?
