for any who have purchased here, at military.com, are there dog tags authentic? just tell me because i am getting a new pair, i ordered a replpacement set because the ones i ordered were clearly a different alloy., oh and, USAFpeople, tell me how your dog tags are formatted, EXACTLY PLEASE. I AM NOT A WANNA BE, i pursue the career of being a united states airforce pilot, or navigator.

the only 'real' dog tags you can get are the ones issued to you. the ones you buy at retail establishments are not official issue.

I don't know about military.com, but you can get authentic dog tags on and around bases. You really shouldn't buy any until you get issued them though. Seriously, you'll look back after a couple of years of service and feel like a jackass. You'll earn everything in time, no need to get ahead of yourself. Good luck.

If you are striving to join just wait and get them for free when you come in. If they get messed up for some reason they will issue you a new pair, also for free.

You could just join and get yours for free, they will be true and authentic.
