ford does not keep key codes for cars before 1997

I work for the Ford dealer and we lost keys to a 96 so I feel your pain (as it came out of my check for loosing the keys)

Anyway, Pop a Lock or AAA or any locksmits specializing in cars will be able to decode and get the key code for you. My cost was $150 and about 3 hours (as I lost a door and a ignition key that were seperate) but this is the only way to go...

A Ford dealer can make keys using the VIN, otherwise a locksmith can do it. You might have to get a new ignition switch

Call a lock smith
they can make a new key for you.

install new locks, i'm pretty sure the plastic around the steering column comes apart fairly easy and then pop out the switch and replace

If you have a locking glove box remove the lock and take it to a locksnith. You can also use a door lock if you know how to remove it.

Go to a ford dealer with the registeration and they can cut one w/o a key to go by with the VIN
