As I see it, the problem is this: you don't pay proper attention to your spelling and grammar, and it makes you angry when people point it out to you. There is an easy answer to your dilemma.
Ask yourself this: are you going to change everyone on Yahoo so that you don't get angry any more? It's not going to happen that you'll change everyone else. Might it not be easier and more productive to change the way you pose your questions? If you used proper spelling and grammar, no one would have any reason to "make fun of" you, (we like to think of it as helpfully correcting your mistakes) and you would no longer be angry. It's a win-win!
The choice is up to you. You can go on using bad grammar and spelling (out of what? pride? stubbornness?) and being angry, or you can communicate in a standard, acceptable way and not be angry any more. Easy choice if you ask me... and you DID ask me. Wow! How often does that happen?

No, it's not a contest on Yahoo. Grammar and spelling count in every aspect of life though. If I were a boss and looking to hire someone, I would not accept the kind of grammar and spelling I see on here. I know, I know, people say they know the difference and would use proper grammar and spelling if the time came to apply for a job, but it's hard to believe that someone who is so ingrained in things like using "u" instead of "you" would be able to put that aside and pick it up again at the drop of a hat.
Think about it. Like Musicality said, the problem isn't with the rest of the world. It's in your hands to fix it.

I agree wholeheartedly with Stacy, and I have just given her a thumbs-up. Some questions are almost impossible to read because of grammatical errors. Then there are the "homework" questions where the asker posts the final part of the question without the core detail; these questions are equally frustrating.
I accept that some people do not have English as their first language, and I make allowance for that; I communicate with several such people here on a regular basis.
Well, I've said my piece, so I shall bid you all Goodnight.

In my experience, people make fun of a questioner's grammar when the question itself appears obnoxious. Often it happens when someone is asking to be rescued in a course for which they have obviously done no studying and posts10 math questions to be answered or asks for an entire term paper to be written by others here. In my opinion, those questioners deserve whatever ridicule they get.
I think that it's usually not just the grammar that is annoying the responders, but it IS an easy target.

I know what you are saying, but at the same time some of the people asking questions have the worst spelling and grammar on the planet. I don't think it's too hard, especially when there is a check spelling button.

lol, i didnt think it was but it just makes you look dull when you have a bunch of mispellings and grammatical errors. mostly people who dont agree with you do that though. and then you don't know if the person really thinks a word is spelled a certain way or if they just didnt care, like someone was talking about mocca yesterday, and they meant mocha, so i corrected them cuz i didnt know if they knew or not. i mess up all the time, but i go back and correct it because i dont like it. i guess i really only comment on other people if i think they really dont know how something is supposed to be.

No, it doesn't bother me. I find it helpful. If it bothers you so much, improve your grammer and spelling (there's even a spell check feature here). I know that probably comes off as kind of "smart aleck", but honestly, communication skills will make a major difference in your life. Lack of skills in grammar and spelling will hold you back and limit you in life. It will limit the jobs you can get. It will limit the kind of person who might be attracted to you and marry you, etc. People are trying to chide/shame you into doing something to improve your life - at least have the common sense to be ashamed.

I am irritated at a complete disregard for spelling and grammar. For me, the issue is that if you cannot spell properly, punctuate your sentences, and use paragraphs to post something in a written format, you have no business in a text-based environment.
How much longer would it have taken to type “you” instead of “u?” Yahoo put a spell check tool in place, but it looks like half the users haven’t noticed.

It's just really hard to read a big paragraph that doesn't have any commas, periods or capitalizations. And honestly, I really don't like the abbreviation stuff for words. I use it when I text message, but this isn't text messaging and you use a keyboard here - so why not just type the whole word out? It saves alot of people aggravation at trying to figure out what it is you are trying to say!
This is what that paragraph would look like without any abbreviation:

See? Really hard to read!

Nope. What pisses me off is people who are too ignorant or lazy to spell correctly (or use the spell check conveniently provided by Yahoo).
