Do we say "USA does" or "USA do"?

Since it's plural (united states), I think it should be "USA do" but I noticed that people usually write or say "USA does". What if I was to write "The United States of America do" instead of "The USA do" , would it be do?

United States of America is a singular name as it refers to the whole country not the individual States. So you would say The USA Does something but if you refer to the collective States you would say the States do something.

"USA" is used in a singular sense, I believe. It's a "united states", meaning a sense of unity and oneness of all (cue My Country Tis of Thee music...)
