each that say "just married" on their website that average $2.50 each ($60 for 24). but really didn't want to spend that much on candy when we are doing three donations (which is really the favor) & our centerpieces are bud vases that will be the "take away" item. Each person will get a program that states the donations which have affected our families (Diabetes, Epilepsy & mental illness) & every couple will get a vase with probably 3 roses. So when you factor in another $2.50 per person it adds up. I thought about doing one candy bag per couple. but not sure how that would be. I planned to buy the just married kisses & scatter them on the table so that way I could control the amount per person (maybe plan for 4 each) but someone on another question said they didn't like how that looked, like it was messy and unclassy. So I do not want that. So I was wondering, what if I were to buy Russell Stover or Whitman samplers that cost less than $1.50 and wrap them. Godiva is too expensive

I should also have said that if anyone has other ideas to let me know. There will be about 150 people. Or 100 gifts if it's for a couple or single person because not everybody is part of a couple. so for stuff like that, I plan on 100. But I know that the chocolate is appreciated so i want to do something. And since the vases will act as our centerpieces (Actually, they ended up being less than what a centerpiece would cost, i'm not really counting that as it doesn't affect the budget) But the chocolate does. First I was going to use m&m chocolate almonds instead of jordan almonds, but decided simple chocolates are more liked. And again, godiva truffles are too expensive. So wanted to know if anyone had thought, suggestions or advice. The primary wedding color is burgandy with white, ivory and silver accents. And it is not until May 2009. Thanks to all for help!

if you don't want to spend the money then don't, there is nowhere that says you have to give people somethings when they come to your wedding. if you really want to do it then just put them out on the tables. get some and set up what the table will look like at your house and see if you like it. not everyone like candy anyways. it sounds like there is already going to be a lot on the tables if each couple at the table gets vase. just put the candy on the table. or don't get them at all, the vase is enough.

I have seen Hersey's kisses and hugs wrapped up in net and tied with thin ribbon which matches the wedding colors. This might work for you. You really dont have to do chocolate at all. You sound like everyone is getting a favor to take home with the bud vase and flowers so more than that is just extra. Another suggestion might be to place a little basket on each table with the kisses in them.

Hi. Totally SKIP the Hershey Kisses favors. You are already doing a lot. And, to be honest, the donation to the charities is supposed to be in lieu of favors.

If you REALLY, REALLY, want to do some chocolates....why not just get the regular Hershey Kisses and wrap them in some tulle. NO ONE will notice the little kisses with the small little flag that says "just married" on them. I know exactly which ones you are talking about. People simply open them and start eating....they will not notice...so don't spend the money on special Hershey Kisses.

Again, I think the two things you have planned is PLENTY!!

Good luck!

Just make the bags yourself and forgo the "Just Married" labeling. Use regular silver kisses.

Buy little bags from a craft store that match the wedding colors, or, if that's too pricey, buy some cellophane and ribbon and tie the kisses up. You can even make "Just married labels on your printer to tie to the bag.

Sounds like you have the favors already taken care of!

I can't imagine somebody saying "I would have much preferred a picture frame/candy/trinket box/(insert typical favor here) than a donation to a charitable organization!

good for you guys, I would pass on the candy

I plan on purchased the mini candy bars with the special labels and a bucket and putting it next to the guest book. So when people sign the guest book if they choose to take candy then fine.

It sounds to me like you've got plenty for the guests already. I would skip the candies.

why not do the personalized M&Ms in some tulle fabric tied with a hand made tag that says Just Married!
