It's being stupid. First, it wouldn't right-click. Then, because it was on mute, I pressed the little volume thinger at the bottom for the volume settings to pop up, and it wouldn't pop up!

So I decided to restart it. I clicked on Start and the little arrow button, but the screen wouldn't come up!

(You know, like when you click on the button and the screen pops up saying Restart? Shut Off? Hibernate? etc)

Isn't there another way? It's a laptop, btw ....

start

run

type cmd

in prompt type: shutdown -r

This will force the pc to restart

You can also try holding in the power button a few seconds and most will power down.

If it completly frozen and can't restart then you will have to either unplug or hold down the power button for a longer period of time.

Hope it helps!!!

First. You can try to press Ctrl + Alt + Del, press the Shut Down - Restart.
Second. If you still can press the Start, try to log off first, then press shutdown on the left bottom.
Third. Just use hard shutdown, press the power button for a few seconds, then press the power again to on it :)
Fourth,. If you think it is due to virus, I'll always glad to help you sort it. ;-)

Wish the best with you.

Try holding down the power button until the computer shuts off. It should take a couple of seconds.

Alternatively, hold CTRL+ALT and press DEL, then click "Shut Down".
