I'm not trying to change your beliefs, but we do not have a need to confess our sins to priests. Jesus came and took away everyone's sins, so that we could have eternal life in him. (hebrews 8:10; Ephesians 2:8-9) The old testament was dependant upon legalistic cooperation with the rules and regulations laid down. The New Covenant is based on Grace. It is not what you do, but what Christ has already done. We have to be careful though, to demonstrate true faith by acting in obedience. John 1:9 "If we confess our sins (to Jesus), he is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from unrighteousness."
