Anyhoo, we are in a new house, and have not yet set up our ellyptical, So I dont have any machines.

I am starting swimming every Tuesday (last tuesday was my first) and horseback riding is going every Monday.. But i wanted to know...

What can I do at home to burn that "spare tire"? and tried tactics?

and would dieting pills be of any help? My mom is significantly overweight and is going on them (I dont remember the name) and she was considering letting me get my own bottle to use..

Or hoodia? is hoodia any good?

Here are a few tips:

1. You MUST exercise if you want to lose weight and keep it off, so do something every day, even if it’s just a 15-minute walk around the neighborhood. Don’t say you don’t have time for exercise; you have to MAKE time. Yes, it takes time and effort, but you’re worth it, right?

2. Walk as much as you want, but don’t do cardio for more than 40 minutes at a time. If you do, you risk burning muscle instead of fat.

3. If you do strength training, use light weights and do lots of repetitions. That’ll really help you “tone up.”

4. Your diet will make you or break you. You have probably learned bad eating habits over time (most people do). That’s not your fault, but now you have to deal with it. Make a commitment to yourself to unlearn those bad habits and re-learn better habits.

5. Eat breakfast every day within an hour of getting up. People who don’t are 450% more likely to be overweight.

6. Eat six small meals or snacks per day instead of three squares per day or one big meal per day. Your body expends energy digesting your food, so eating smaller portions more often keeps your metabolism running high because you’re constantly digesting food.

7. Avoid these as much as possible:

-- Trans fat (any type of partially or fully hydrogenated oil)
-- High fructose corn syrup (soft drinks are LOADED with it)
-- Fast food
-- Junk food
-- White sugar, white flour, white rice, white potatoes
-- The deadly C’s (cookies, cakes, candy, chips, cola)

8. Build your diet around these trim-body-friendly foods:

-- Nuts, any kind (almonds are best)
-- Beans/Legumes
-- Fresh vegetables (green is GREAT!!!)
-- Dairy products (as long as they’re low-fat or non-fat)
-- Eggs
-- Lean meats (fish and poultry top the list)
-- Olive oil
-- Whole grain breads/cereals/pasta
-- Fresh fruits (anything that ends in “berry” is a winner)
-- Tea (green tea or black pekoe tea)
-- Cold water or ice water (your body has to expend extra calories to heat it up)

9. Desserts and treats are the exception, not the rule. Having said that, however, (1) you can have a couple of pieces of chocolate every day – just don’t overdo, and (2) Allow yourself one “cheat meal” every week where you eat and drink whatever you want as long as you don’t gorge yourself. That’ll help keep you from feeling deprived and it’ll make it easier to stick with your new healthy eating plan.

Good luck!

FIVE minutes to read??? But good.

You are in a hurry. You need to do four things right now. (1) Diet: Eat a small breakfast, small lunch, and small dinner. Eat three healthy and "very" small meals. No fat. No carbs. (2) Drink lots of water. It will actually help you lose weight and feel full. (3) Stomach: Do as many sit-ups or crunches as possible everyday in the morning and evening. (4) Fat Burn: Do a hard, continuous exercise everyday for at least 1 hour. straight Swim, run, ride a bike whatever. But, it must be continuous and you will need to work up a good sweat.

This will help you burn calories and fat, and tone up the area you want. You may not see a big weight loss in 3 weeks because of the water consummation, but your stomach and love handles will start disappearing. If you are really serious about making a change in 3 weeks make that a 2 hour work-out everyday. Take a multi-vitamin everyday as well.

Fat burning tips: Cardio!!! I cannot stress anymore how important cardio is to losing weight! Firming up would be involved in strength training. Stationary biking is the best thing I have ever found when it came to trimming up (I hope you realize you will have to do a combination of strength training and cardio in order to "burn fat").

Diet pills: They really don't work! None of them! I could give you a Flinstone vitamin and tell you you would lose weight if you did an hour of cardio every day, and basically that is what all of these pills say, too.

Look in the herbal section, and you will, however, find some great things: B6 is a great metabolizer, Chromiun is great for flushing sugars, and Melatonin is a great way to ensure you get a full 8 hours of sleep which is necessary to help you stay healthy. The great thing about these products is that none of them are addicting and you will notice a difference in a week.

Using a pill just makes you depend on the pill. Get lots of good nutrition and the body will trim out. If you are home, just stand and twist, twist and swing your arms, Carry cans of green beans in each hand when you work out. See the perfect diet below, but remember moderation.

It is important to maintain a good diet so you don't compromise your health. Damage done because of lack of nutrition is not worth a nice body. Some diet damage cannot be fixed.

· When you deprive your brain, the brain will take other body cells to convert to the elements that it needs. And the cells it takes are BRAIN cells. OOPS. I don't want to lose brain cells to have thin legs. But I would like to have both.

Also, a quick weight loss is usually a water loss and that loss will come back ASAP. You cannot loose FAT more than 2 to 3 pounds a week. Any more than that and you are loosing water and muscle mass (not good)

AND DON'T GO ON A DIET. DECIDE TO MAKE A LIFE CHANGE TO A HEALTHY LIFE STYLE.

1) fruits and veggies, all you want, organic, raw, vine-ripe if possible. Steamed is OK, sautéed is OK even canned or frozen is OK, but lots of them.
2) limited or no meat.
3) nothing fried
4) no FAST FOOD- is junk, no nutrition, empty calories
5) NO PROCESSED FOOD. if you can't pronounce it don't eat it.
6) nothing white, salt, sugar, mayo, milk, (or at least in moderation.
7) NO DAIRY-dairy is great for baby cows, your body does not even digest it properly. check out www.notmilk.com
8) EXERCISE- and be sure to refresh your body with water and fresh fruit
9) NO PROTEIN SUPPLEMENTS. Muscle is made from water, replace the water. You get enough protein from the food you eat, You get more protein from spinach than the supplements you take and your body does not get toxic on food protein the way it will with supplements. Supplements can really tax you liver.
10) Good supplement would be Omega 3, and B-12 and Juice Plus+

11) NO CARBONATED DRINKS, or at least limited. They actually dissolve the calcium in your bones.
12) Calories in calories out.

AND DON'T GO NUTS, MODERATION.

OK, i put this in one of the other questions, you should go read it. but here is a simplified version.

you need to be doing cardio to burn the fat. you cant spot reduce, (so situps wont reduce stomach fat). additionally you need to be doing weights so that you metabolism rises. you metabolism controls how fast you burn fat. the higher the faster! and the most important thing is to eat right...low carb, high protein, low fat (fat loss) ---- if you want to gain muscle go on the same thing but slightly increase your carb intake.

GOOD LUCK

In the mood for a hot meal? Make a enormous pot of veggie bean soups, divide into two-cup containers, and store from the freezer. Before bed, place a container in the fridge, then grab it before heading out the door each morning.

It’s an age old trick but vertical stripes do stretch you out. The contrast of colour straight around splits your body in 50 percent.
