ok.. in high school i weighed about 155 pounds and was skinny played baseball was in good shape and i had no problem with my face at all...by my freshman year of college i weighed 165 a little chubby but not really i gained a little muscle as well.. im about 5'11 or 6 even by the way...anyways in the past two years ive went from 165 up to 205 basically no muscle gain... and ive said thats enough and am back down to 198 and have made a lifestyle change with diet and exercise... my question is over the past couple of years my eyes have started to look sunken in and have a dark ring under and a little on the side like im always tired.. i think its a combo of my weight gain and not enough sleep.. have i caused a permanent change to my face or can i change it by getting back into shape and getting adequate sleep on a consistent basis... does anyone know this answer to this? sorry for being so long winded

alright i'm not by far a physician or anything but i do major in the medical field and i do know a little! dark circle under your eyes........anemic(need iron), could need the vitamins in bananas(this can cause the circles), could be your diet(greasy foods, fast foods) try taking vitamins with a well-balanced diet, including plenty of water and FRUIT. when you get a sweet tooth eat fruit.......try replacing the bad foods with other foods that suit your tastes, but don't have all the starches(breads, pastas, rice) and have the good vitamins your body needs to function on a daily basis!

Could be a little of both. Congrats on the weight loss and keep up the good work. You still sound young so you should be able to get back to your prior self.

As you continue to loose weight your face will seem less puffy and your eyes/cheeks may start to look more "normal" like they were. As for the dark circles, sometimes that is caused by broken blood vessles that "pool" around the eyes. If you played a lot of sports and had facial contact/trauma or rub your eyes a lot (allergies/contacts), this could be permanent (sorry). Keep in mind, although you didn't mention it...alcohol is also a contributing factor to both puffiness, weight and dark circles. USUALLY you can lessen the darkness with adequate sleep. 15 minutes more per night works wonders for my face and I really don't seem to notice that I've "lost" time.

A few "girly" tips...cucumber slices over the eyelids helps a great deal. If you can't swing that. Put 2 spoons or a damp washcloth in the freezer for a few minutes and place them over your eyes...sounds stupid but it seems to help if you've had a "bad night".

Of course you haven't got permenant damage. You're young. Get some quality rest, work out and diet and lose weight at a reasonable pace and you'll be fine. It won't take long, just take care of yourself!
