sure, why not...You don't have to be the same age to date...But make sure you really love him, and the other way around too...If so, stay by him, even when he is in the army, it will be great for him to recieve letters of support from you and when he visits home you can make him feel at home...

This is a typical difference in age between females and males dating or married, especially after high school, but in today's environment it has become much more tricky at the ages you and he now hold. A person who is 18 or 19 (depending on state) who engages in sex with a person 16 or less can be arrested, jailed, and marked as a sexual offender for life - even if the couple later marries. I think the situation with near age sexual interaction has gotten absurd with politicians running wild and classifying 18 y.o. boys with girl friends the same as 42 y.o. men assaulting 4 y.o.
You may not be planning on that, but you and he are heading toward a stressful time, the more you like him, the more the stress.

If you really like him AND he's leaving, I'd be careful. You could be really hurt as a high school student when he leaves. He has an awful lot on his plate right now, and may not be able to be a good bf to you.
I know I'm speculating, but this situation doesn't seem promising to me. You are just 16. There are still so many fish in the sea. Good luck to you, hon.

two words...statutory rape!!! it is against the law to date somebody that is over 18 and your a minor. if your parents dont agree with the relationship, they have the right to press charges against him. if the parents dont do it, then the state can being charges against him. then he will go to jail. then he will be called a pedophile for the rest of his life. after that, hes life is over. it doesnt matter if you had sex with him or not. and hes going into the army!!! good luck with that!!! i will promise you he will be meeting other girls. if you do antyhing with him and he gets caught, thats it. his life is over. its the age and its the law...sorry :-(
