I would say pray because the bible says "Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and you will be saved, you and your household." and your athiest mate is still part of your household

My significant other which is my wife, is a Christain as I am, By the way in our 17 yrs. of marriage Not one time have we disagree on any scriptures, You see before we got married, I made sure she was a true Christian. Because I became a Christain in 1970 & my 1st wife past away, & I knew I had to marry someone in the Lord, Yes my wife has not been a Christain as long as I have, but she is a Christain, I think after dating her for almost a year, & we saw each other everyday, I knew she was meant for me, Now we will be married 17 yrs this coming March 2008

that would be something hard to deal with. But it is also something I found out about my now husband within the first few dates, before we were significant. Because even though I am not religious per say, I do believe in God and certain values and morals and if the person I was with didn't have simular views the relationship would probably not work out.

The only way one could "find out" that their significant other was an atheist, is by not paying attention in the first place. It's just one of those things you get to know about a person BEFORE you get involved. As to "would I have gotten involved with an atheist", I don't really know. What attracted to my wife was who she was, and her faith played a big part in making her that person.

Athieast not believe in God
So the Bible Said in psalm 53,14
1 The fool says in his heart,
"There is no God."
They are corrupt, and their ways are vile;
there is no one who does good.

2 God looks down from heaven
on the sons of men
to see if there are any who understand,
any who seek God.

3 Everyone has turned away,
they have together become corrupt;
there is no one who does good,
not even one.

4 Will the evildoers never learn—
those who devour my people as men eat bread
and who do not call on God?

5 There they were, overwhelmed with dread,
where there was nothing to dread.
God scattered the bones of those who attacked you;
you put them to shame, for God despised them.

6 Oh, that salvation for Israel would come out of Zion!
When God restores the fortunes of his people,
let Jacob rejoice and Israel be glad!
So the Afiestezm in bad

It wouldn't surprise me - he's doing a science degree. To be honest I wouldn't mind too much, I want our children to be able to make a decision by themselves and to have one religious parent and one athiest would be pretty fair (thats the same as my parents actually, and I turned out ok!).

Better than if she were a satanist who actually believes in and worships the devil. At least for an atheist, there's still hope. But for the devil-worshipper, they have completely and irrevocably turned their back on God.

Fortunately, my better half is smarter than that. She couldn't become an atheist any more than you could become a light bulb :-)

I could live with a Christian, Buddhist, Hindu, Muslim, Zoroastrian, agnostic, or atheist spouse. But an athiest?

*shudder*

I would still love him. I have a high tolerance for people of different religions. Of course I would still feel that I was the one on the right track (I'm a woman - I am always right...ha.) but I wouldn't put him down or leave him for having his own opinion.

I'm extremely devoted and I'm not even taken. I obviously have problems.

in the bible says that two unequal yolks cannot work together. as a christian we are to as God for everything in Jesus name and he will provide. when he gives a partner he give according to his perfect will and grace. everything that God gives us in life does not come with a tangled web or strings attached or problem that will make us unhappy. ask God for Guidance through his word, or from God fearing person. he will answer. do as Gideon did ask three times. remember if you talk to him on a regular basis you will get to know Him and He will answer you.
God Bless you.
