I'm 13, and I was going to recess, and placed it on the ground. There is this rude girl, Amy. And she picked up my lunch box (without me knowing at all), and starting hitting on of my friends as a joke. (I barely even know this girl. Well, I kinda know her, I really don't like her at all) And she just put it where it was. One stitch came out and now my whole 50 dollar lunch box is ruined! I am grounded for it too, and that was my favorite lunch box! She didn't tell me about it either, one my friends did. What should I do!? should I make her pay for it? Should I tell my mom or just hid it. Would it be bad for my mom to call her mom?

Oh, I didn't add that, my parents don't live together and I am only grounded at my dads house. They don't talk so.. my mom won't know unless I tell her.

$50 is too much to pay for a lunch box, for obvious reasons.
If a stitch came out, it should be fixable. You don't say what kind of lunch box it is that has stitches, but there are shoe repair places and also dry cleaners that might be able to fix it, or you might be able to fix it yourself if you get the right stuff at a craft or sewing store.
Yes, she should pay for the repairs, but will she? Ask her mom.

I honestly don't think what the girl did to the lunch box made the stitich come out. It may of already been comeing out. You would think a 50.00 lunch box would have better seams then that. One little stitch comeing out don't neccessary make the whole lunch box ruined. Your parents are crazy for buying a 50.00 lunch box. I pay like 10.00 for my daughters lunch box.

You should tell your mom the truth and let her decide what she wants to do. Beware, if she calls this girl's mother, it could mean more trouble for you. Just something to consider, be prepared for. That's all.

A $50 lunchbox? Where did you get that, Neiman-Marcus? And its your favorite, meaning you have more! to be honest, you all sound like spoiled brats.

she should pay for it, she should not be messing with your stuff without you knowing.
You might want to get a different kind of lunch box, one that can take a beating.

You say you are already grounded for it, then you ask if you should hide it from your mom? You don't make any sense

tell your mother, have her call this girls mother, and get it handled. you should not be punished for actions that were not yours. in the future, though, keep a closer eye on your things.
