I'm 5'7 and 125 pounds, i know this doesnt sound too awful but i have a very small frame and therefore look SO FAT!! i don't know what to do to lose weight i feel totally hideous! About a year ago i was 110 pounds- whats happened? I'm 15. Is it just a case of strict dieting and a goood exercise plan? Am i just being lazy?

I think that maybe your body image isn't as distortion-free as you think it is.... 125 pounds is very slim for a person of 5 foot 7 ....

If you have been anorexic before, I think dieting would be disastrous for you. Who helped you recover previously? It might be time for you to speak to them again.

Best of luck.

I think, teamed with the fact that you used to be anorexic, maybe a year ago when you were 110 pounds that maybe you're going back to your old ways.

Since your so tall yet way so little I don't see how you could look fat. You are in a normal weight range and loads of people think like you and you seem to think everyone thinks you are 'fat' too but I bet nobody has ever thought that about you.

I think you don't need strict dieting or a good exercise plan, especially at 15. Just enjoy your youth before your 31 and in your midlife crisis or something! Accept the way you are and eat what you want, when you want and have fun.

Make the most of your life - its not about how thin you are, its about how you spend your time and to me calorie counting does not sound fun :P

Good luck :)

I'm 5'4" and 125lb, I think I look fine. I wear size 8, and swim twice a week so I have reasonable muscle definition. I think it's true that your body image is not fully recovered. I was anorexic at 16 and I still don't see myself the same way as other people do - I'm now 30. Believe me it's a lot of years to have spent worrying about size. Don't go down the same road, do some exercise (but not too much) and try to get on with living your life. Thin does not look good when it's obsessive, you end up with miserable lines on your face! Happy people look better, whatever their size.

You said it, you're a recovered anorexic, so you have suffered the condition? It takes years to fully recover and some dont ever. Concentrate on what else you like about yourself. Exercise is good for the mind and the body. Join a sports club or go swimming. Will do wonders for your confidence and your fitness!

Well if you are a recovered anorexic then id say that's why you have put weight on. Your body will have lowed its metabolism when you were dieting,it won't have altered yet so anything you eat your body will save,to try and save up its supplies.
Just eat well and exercise. Good luck.

You DO have a distorted body image.
No need to diet, you're probably about the right weight. Do try to get a little exercise in, such as walking, so that the weight will be better distributed as muscle.

You're still young, you don't need to worry about "strict diets and exercise" unless a doctor approves it. Just remember to eat healthy (fried foods generally make you feel more emotionally icky) and maybe join a sport as a hobby (not necessarily for your school) and you'll feel a lot better about yourself. It does work, even a little bit.

People try to find an easy excuse for gaining weight. Medical, genes, stress etc...

But it all comes down to one simple formula. Reduced caloric intake + increased physical activity = weight loss.
