That's exactly it. Every religion has dealt with the question of origins. Science, by way of evolutionary theory (still unproven) has addressed that subject. Science, by way of other disciplines has tried to replace everything else. It's humanism that is being pushed, man is the one on the throne, the scientists are become the evangelists, the psychiatrists the priests.

Absolutely not. There's belief and there's knowledge. Worship systems are based entirely on beliefs that can't be proven. Science is based on knowlege that can be proven over and over again with the same results each time. Science is fact, religion is fiction, maybe more people are just now starting to realize this. Although, if you want to look at it like that , don't you think it would be better to concentrate on what the human mind is capable of creating and discovering, instead of what the human mind is capable of convincing itself is real and then placing all hope in said thing?

Science is the search for fact, I have never heard of anyone worshiping science only accepting its findings.
Can you name a war or genocide done in the name of science? I can't even name all the different crimes done in the name of "GOD".
Even if it were possible to worship science, would it be so terrible for everyone to question what we are told by others, constantly in search for concrete answers to everything?

No. Science is a tool that helps us understand the world around us. There is no dogma. What one scientist says can be disproved by another. Sometimes a scientist works for years, and has to admit he was wrong when the facts don't add up. It's nothing like religion.

Science is not to be worshipped. To worship something is to bow down without question and be a slave to the desires of whatever you are worshipping, real or imagined. Science requires questioning and constant reevaluation..that's why things like gravity, atoms, and evolution remain theories, because there is new evidence and modification to areas of their study.

Since science encourages skepticism, no. Will some people worship science? Of course. If cults have taught us anything, it is that some people will follow almost anything, even to the death.

Hope not.
Too many scientists with degrees behind their names were paid big bucks by the tobacco companies to say tobacco smoking was good for consumers' health.
Not all science is good science; some of it (not all of it) is faked unfortunately.
Some scientists (not all) have compromised their science to obtain grant money.

only if you don't understand it.
therefore you should strive to understand at least some science and pay attention at school. Given the necessary knowledge it is possible to prove the scientific findings.
Wikipedia definition of belief:
Belief is the psychological state in which an individual holds a proposition or premise (argument) to be true without necessarily being able to adequately prove its main contention to other people who may or may not agree.

belief in god relies on dogma
belief in the scientific method is believing in a process by which facts can be investigated, knowledge can be increasingly refined and truth is provisional rather than absolute
