Check into Medicaid. In California, there are some hospitals selected by the county to serve the medically indigent. Depending on your income is what you will pay. It is usually the county hospital. A medical social worker in a hospital may be able to advise you on this.

if you have not been diagnosed with cancer or not a high risk, you wont have any problems getting insurance. But if you have, when you get insurance all pre-existing conditions will not be covered for a certain period of time. If you are insurable you need to get some coverage and keep it. I know from experience, i have been paying cobra insurance for the past 18 months and at the end of the month, which is tomorrow i will no longer have insurance. I am considered a high risk and checked out the high risk pool for the state i live in and its ridiculous. the premiums are 1,900.00 a month and with a 1,500.00 deductible. If i had that kind of money i wouldn't need insurance. Good Luck!

Go to an emergency room and complain of pain and extreme fatique any symptoms you get multiply by ten. they can't turn you away. I live in Canda and I have cancer, just finished chemo and starting rads in a week or so. You need to get diagnosed and fast please do this, I kow it's sneaky, but think of the alternative. And pretend you don't know that you have this thyroid cyst. Good luck and God Bless, I'll be sending you a good luck prayer. If your not sure of what symptoms to complain about look up thyroid cancer in the mayo clinic web site or the NIH website. I just think it's so disgusting that a rich country like the US treats there citizens this way there should be universal health care.

Just out of curiosity....why did you wait a year to worry about this? Most of the time there is a waiting period of 6-12 months for pre-existing conditions. Which means you have to have the health insurance policy and be paying for it for 6-12 months before it will cover a pre-existing condition.
