You don't. First, your home is not a sterile environment for any surgery, let alone hernia surgery. Second, you don't have the skills. You could kill you dog, and you don't want to do that, right? (I'm hoping you're shaking your head now) Third, you don't have the equipment to properly do the surgery. The proper drugs, the operating table, the scalpel, the suturing equipment, etc. etc. Have your vet do the surgery. That's what (s)he spent 8+ years studying for.

You don't want to try this on your dog without practice.
First you need to enroll in the nearest college of veterinary medicine so you can get the manuals and practice on dead animals then they'll let you practice on live ones in the emergency vet clinics.
Then when you get good enough and don't kill anyone elses dog you can operate on your own. I figure you'll have wasted thousands of dollars and your dog will be long dead by the time you're ready to try. You're probably better off taking it to the vet and spending a few hundred dollars to have them remove it. I mean since the vet of your choice already knows how and all.

You're not really serious, are you? Or are you just out for a troll?
You don't do it at home. You don't know how, you're not properly equipped, and absolutely nobody here can teach you. Even if they could, by the time you got everything set up to do it properly, you would have spent enough to have a whole flock of hernias repaired.
Forget it, take the dog to a vet.

I can't believe this!!! This has got to be some kind of a joke! You have to be kidding me! You cannot perform surgery on your own dog at home. That's what a veterinarian is for! I suppose you diagnosed your dog with a hernia by yourself too! Take your dog to the vet, like a responsible pet owner is supposed to do, or give the dog to someone, who will care for it properly. You have to be a TROLL!!!

I'm going to assume you are kidding us. No one in their correct mind who love their pets would attempt a home surgery.
In any state in the union this is animal abuse and you could go to jail.
Take the dog to a VET or give it to a non-kill facility. If you have a child you don't do home surgery. When you assume the care of an animal it is a part of your family and deserve the same respect and care as any other family member. In an emergency that animal would lay his life on the line to protect you and you need to do the same.

Oh yeah, they have some info on the internet for that. Go to Iamstupid@retard.com ..I'm not sure of all the steps, you need to take, to have a successful surgery, but I do know how to get started. First, get your biggest, dullest, knife from the drawer. Good idea to rinse it off, to get rid of germs. Then lay down on your kitchen table, and proceed to make an incision from the top of your sternum, straight down to your belly button. Make sure its deep and a straight line. Next step, take your hands and pull open, the cut area, reach inside as far down as your arms will go. Then, take a handhold, and pull real hard. Pull your head up, and out, to get it out of your rectum. Then discard medical waste in its proper container.!
If, and when, you get your head out of your a**, and survive, then you can move on to the dog.

Here is what you need to do...
You need to find what the best vetrinary medicine school you have around... and then complete 9 years of school... oh and pass all of the classes with flying colors. However by that time fido will be gone. So you better just take the pooch to the vet like everyone else.

If your dog needs surgery of any kind, you take it to the vet.
It's as simple as that.
Would you want some random, uneducated person to do surgery on you? I highly doubt it. Your dog doesn't want that either...and if you try to do it yourself, he'll probably die. Take him to the vet, or find him a new home.

One solution is to have Chuck Norris deliver a roundhouse kick to the dogs hernia.. that should take care of it.

a hernia in a dog doesnt need surgery. A lot of puppies are born with hernias. all i was told to do was apply a small amount of pressure to the hernia for a couple of seconds (like 30) every day. my puppies hernia was gone within a couple of weeks. oh and btw you cant perform home surgery on dogs EVER
