if you stop using sensitivity toothpaste your teeth will go back to being sensitive. get more toothpaste!

some people just have sensitive teeth, that's just the way it is.

sometimes lots of pop, citrus, acidic things like tomatoes bring out the sensitivity in people. everyone is different.

try some sensitivity toothpaste and if it doesn't go away go and see your dentist to make sure nothing is wrong.

also be sure to avoid baking soda, whitening and tartar control toothpastes. those tend to cause sensitivity as well.

*edit* your teeth are moving, they can be sensitive. just use sensitivity toothpaste and ask your orthodontist about it the next time you go in.

Well there could be many reasons for this. Okay, first you have to ask yourself, is this a sharp quick pain of a long dull pain. If its a sharp quick pain it may be cause by open dentinal tubules(microscopic canals that run from the outside of the dentin to the nerve inside the tooth). These can be sealed by you dental professional (its not a procedure it only takes a matter of minutes). On the other hand, if the pain is not this it could be because of a cavity (if its a long dull pain). My guess is open dentinal tubules.

Are you using any whitening products??? Products like crest white strips etc often cause tooth sensitivity. If not, I would go back to the sensitive toothpaste and see your dentist.

Make sure you floss, sometimes if you go without flossing too long it can make your gums inflamed and make it painful or uncomfortable to eat things, esp. cold things.

Edit: Sorry didn't see the part about braces, I don't know in that case.
