cook a meal from scratch!
try a spicy curry gravy with beef and potatoes, it's easy and affordable.
just cook your beef (stew chunks) down with onions and bellpeppers, make sure the meat is seasoned good, especially with red pepper.
in another pot, simmer down a can of coconut milk and beef broth, add a can of curry paste or you can use the seasoning, which ever you prefer, put as much as you want to taste. add a little brown sugar, then add your meat (and whatever is in left in the pot to the milk, make sure meat is tender when u add). add your potatoes last and voila. oh, and i add bamboo shoots too! you can put this over rice and it will last forever and taste even better the next day. depending on how much you make.
takes 15 mins at tops. it may be a little longer for you if it's your first.
once you get the hang of it, you'll use more ingredients after you get the basic gravy routine down, you'll start using shrimp, chicken, or even oxtails...it's easy!

I usually do both. Lunch is a straight outta the package deal -- in fact 99% of the time part of my lunch is a box of Annies Mac N Cheese (the rest, a quesadilla or whatever else is enough to tie over my big appetite).
Dinner on the other hand I usually stick to meals from scratch -- home made pesto pasta, fresh veggies/chicken in stir fry, etc.
It boils down to time vs. health. When I don't have free time I do what's fast and convenient, when I have spare time I try stuff that isn't processed and is more nutritious.

I mostly cook from scratch. But there are just some busy nights where convenience is good. I'd rather make my own tortillas or alfredo, but there's nothing like an emergency meal in the pantry.

I cook a meal from scratch because usually it doesn't take much longer than opening a can. A good cook's knife does wonders.

Cooking from scratch is a weekend thing.
Lately, work has been very busy so I've been eating out, eating leftovers or using canned/processed foods.

mostly from scratch ....the only can I open is a condensed soup like cream of mushroom or cream of chicken. Oh and I do use Barilla marinara sauce for italian meals. Since the discovery of Barilla, I don't make my own sauce anymore

I always cook meals from scratch. They are nutritious & delicious meals!
Otherwise I'd be dead right now from processed & restaurant food.
