I believe it is his but when We made our invitations for our wedding my name went first because most of the people were my family and friends. You can go to the library and check out a book called "Proper Wedding Planning" It tells you how each thing for a bride and groom to do all the resposibilities and whose name goes first. Good luck to you I hope this helps;)

There are different schools of thought, but the most common contemporary form is...

Mr. & Mrs. John Smith

or

Jane and John Smith

The womans name comes first in the second format because a man's first name should not be separated from his last.

Generally, it is signed Mr. & Mrs. - so I would think his name comes first.

But if you're just sending a card to someone the bride knows, I'd sign the bride's name followed by the groom's name.

In the US, usually she keeps her maiden name as her middle name. In Holland, she hyphens her new name with her old name behind it.
Of course some don't take their husbands name at all, or end up with ridiculous hyphen names (especially when old money is involved), so the kids can end up with Smith-Jones-Brown-Samuels as a last name. Thanks Mom and Dad!!!!
