To help with will power, make sure there are health things to eat in the house like veggies, rice cakes, water and yogurt instead of the usual junk and fried foods.

Eat protein with every meal to help you stay full feeling longer. Eat breakfast within an hour of getting up and make sure it includes protein. Eat small meals every 2-3 hours to keep your metabolism up and limit your simple carb intake (potatoes, cookies, cakes, soda, chips and anything fried). Also watch your artificial sweetener intake (like diet soda and crystal light/diet drinks) because it causes bloating and encourages your "sweet tooth". Once in a while is OK.

Since your young I am assuming going to a gym in not an option but if your school has a weight room, see if you can use it. Stay after school and do lunges across the gym floor, sprints, squats or even play basketball. Run up and down the stairs if there are any around. Stay active. Enlist the help of your friend and see if you can compete in a sit up or push up contest to see who's stronger. Make things fun.

Do cardio to burn fat and rev up your metabolism. You can jump rope, jumping jacks, get an exercise DVD/tape from the library for free or rent them from the video store. Billy Blanks Tae Bo is a personal favorite. Ask for an exercise/yoga ball for Christmas and most of them come with a DVD to work out to for a few dollars more. Exercise doesn't have to be expensive.

Check out websites like My-Calorie-counter.com and record what/how much you are eating and get great tips on exercises and diet.

It takes discipline and effort to make permanent changes but you can do it. You do not sound overweight so toning up will take the pounds right off. Good luck and keep trying!

You know, exercise doesn't have to be hard. You should find a friend to go for a 30-60 minute brisk walk with every morning - or afternoon. If you are consistent, it can turn into a 10 minute brisk walk to warm up and then an easy jog. Burning fat for energy happens at a relatively low heart-rate. Having your heart-rate at 130 per minute for 40 minutes 5 times a week will do wonders. If you are with someone, it goes by like nothing and doesn't even feel like work. Throw in some push-ups and sit-ups when you wake up or whenever, and you can change everything. Good Luck.

Silly!

There's nothing wrong with having a diet "accident". I recall reading this one book with the phrase "it's a choice, not a cheat".

If you kind of break up routine, all isn't lost. Just get back on the wagon the next day. :)

As far as winter exercises, I would suggest a high intensity "fat burning" yoga, which will really improve the tone of your body.

As far as being sixteen and "trying to lose weight for a few years now", that's ridiculous. It's one thing to want to tone up to look nice, it's another thing to become desperate when you're not even considered overweight on the scales! :)

That's not such a bad weight for your height. The most you should want to lose is probably 5 lbs. You should not skip meals. It only makes you hungrier and you will most likely binge. Cut soft drinks and candies from your diet. Eat well-balanced meals, and exercise. Running and some light weight-lifting. Remember muscle weighs more than fat. Depends on the look you want for yourself. And drink a lot of water.

I don't think you need to lose weight what you need is some self esteem. You should look into some self esteem buiilding classes or workshops. Learn to love everything about yourself and stop obsessing over food and diet. Because believe me until you become happy with yourself even when you got down to your goal weight you would find soemthing else about yourself that you do not like.

5'6 and 139 isn't fat first of all.

If you want too look better do cardio exercise to cover the holes in your diet

Have willpower. It's not that hard- all you have to do is NOT eat bad things. Seriously, its easy to not do something. All you have to do... is not do anything. DUH
