It's worse to be forced to go to church because it's completely counterproductive to spirituality. Forced church attendance teaches people/children to see God/religion/parents as tyranical, instead of seeing God, religion or parents as trustworthy, and someone to rely on for help and guidance.

I believe there is a correlation between the love and personal freedom that parents give to their children. Children naturally wish to emulate the behaviours of an admired and beloved parent. Parents need to be patient with the process of life. There is a lot that I learned after having my own children, and I'm still learning. Good thing my parents never gave up on me (even though I gave up on them, as a teenager) ...

I think being a good example is the most effective way to teach spirituality... but it's also the hardest. I hope my children will forgive me for my selfish mistakes, because I really do wish them only happiness in this life and the next. I'm doing the best I can... and I think most parents do.

Church is for believers who want to hear Gods word! It wouldn't be wrong for a parent to force a child to go but after they are on thier own it should be up to them!

No body is required to go to church. It is only a place to worship in mass, but you can do just the same in your own home if you prefer

I would think being forced to go to church, and not wanting to be there would be worse because no one should ever be somewhere they don't want to go...especially if they're uncomfortable..and I Know God wouldn't want someone to feel as if they were forced to be in his House.

I wouldn't say that not going to church at all qualifies as a bad thing, so the "worse" comparative is not applicable here for me...

not going. What you want to do has no necessary connection to what you should be doing. Are you saying, It's wrong to go to Church, or you just don't like it. You don't go to church for you, you go for God. But I'll stop because I'm not sure you're being serious.

I would rather be forced to go to church than to be forever cut off from the maker of heaven and earth.

Not going at all. At least there, you can learn something. You can worship with the family of God. You meet people. You see friends. You can find opportunities to serve others. There's a million things to do. When you're into it, everyday isn't enough.

Being forced to go to church is worse because God does not require it. Church is not necessary for salvation. I know quite a few chrisitians who do not attend a regular brick and mortar church. Those choose to gather and worship outside of a church, i.e. someone's home.

Where 2 or more are gathered there in his name he is there.

BTW, being forced to go does not save you.
