a little girl. However she only has her everyother month when her dad works day. When he works nights he has her during those months. So when she has her, she comes in the clothes that my cousin put on her that morning. Looks like she doesnt get a bath. Is 4 years old, doesn't know how to play with toys, wants someone to feed her, take her to the RR, open a door, etc. She weighs as much as her 1-1/2 year old. she also stays in a 1 bedroom apartment with her father and 2 brothers that are 5 & 7. Should she call CPS? She has tried talking to the father and he kindof brushes off her questions. What should she do?

She most likely has developmental delays. I am a nanny for 2 brothers. The oldest just turned 8 a few weeks ago and barely talks and the younest is 3 and just barely started walking...he can only take a few steps. They have had genetic testing done and cannot find out so far what is wrong with the 3 year-old. He is the size of a 12 month old. The oldest is Autistic and severe ADHD. Tell your cousin to work with her when she has her on developing her skills.

umm, those dont sound like good enough reason to call cps. i dont know what you mean by she comes in the clothes that your cousin put on her the morning. and just because she looks like she dosnt bath, dosnt mean she dosnt bath. i dont know what you mean by dosnt know how to play with toys either, maybe she has a mental disorder of some sort. Just because she wants your cousin to feed her, dosnt mean she does that at home, kids test their boundries with babysitters to see what they can get away with. just because she stays in a one bedroom apartment dosnt mean nothing, at least she has a roof over her head and maybe the father isnt that well of concidering it sounds like he is a single father of 3. if the child is in other wise, healthy condition, no sign of abuse or neglect, i think you need to stay out of it. bath her if you think she is dirty, ask the father to bring over an extra change of clothes if you want, but sometimes, familys just dont have lots of clothes, or cant afford to pay to wash their clothes as much as the next guy. Be carefull with what you choose to do, you may stir up trouble where it dosnt need to be stirred
