i have a ps3, i really want to try blue ray disc. do i need any cables or wires for the blue ray disc to work or can i just watch the high def movies without any trouble?

The PS3 is 1080p capable, assuming you have an HD display. If you're already connected and playing games then your movies will work also. SD movies will be upscaled and Blu-Ray are HD. Enjoy

If you can see the video from a game, you can just insert a DVD or BluRay disk and watch the movie.

However - it wont be high def unless you have the PS3:

- Connected to a HDTV
- Use component cables or HDMI cables
- Use the PS3 setup to tell it to output 720 or 1080

You may have already done all of this, but some people have hooked their PS3 to a standard def TV with SVideo.
