I can't tell when he has any needs. I just guess most of the time when he is hungry . I just check on him when his is wet or dirty . How can I teach him how to communicate?

just have him try the potty frequently (as in really frequently, like every half hour or less). eventually he will use it, and he will start to make the connection. lots of people also have their kids go naked or at least w/o diapers or pullups while potty training. again, the kid makes the connection pretty quickly.

What worked for my son is The Potty Stool http://www.thepottystool.com I started by just setting it at the toilet. This stool makes every toilet kid-sized. My kids immediately climbed up on this stool and discovered that they could safely and securely use the toilet. This got them very interested in using the toilet and they were potty trained very quickly.

My kids like to use what they know mommy and daddy use. And it really is wonderful having your kids independently use the toilet on their own. The handles make all the difference! My son and daughter felt very secure and the sides makes them feel comfortable and closed in when they use the toilet.

I like that I don't have to double the steps of potty training by training them first in a potty and then training them to stop using a potty. And not dumping and cleaning a potty each time is great. The best thing is that kids use it for years. I hope this helps you

There was a report written in the New England Journal of Medicine that talked about women that have potty trained their children as young as nine months. The article written after a study in Africa where women don't diaper their children showed that children will give a sign when they feel pressure on their bladder or bowel. Parents must learn to understand this sign and rush them to the potty chair when they see it. I'm sure there is information on the web about this as I know there is a movement in the US to inform mothers who care to do it.

Try setting a timer for every 30 minutes and placing him on the potty chair. Give him stickers to "Decorate" the chair. I got my son Elmo ones and he thought it was great that he was able to put the stickers on there.

he will let you know , one sure fire way for boys is pull the diaper off of him. let him go around nude. When it gets hard he has to go pee. All little boys are the same way. Generally if he is not communicating with you then it is not time. Most boys don't train till around 3yrs. I would wait a little while longer.
