Socko, saying something that is well evidenced is fine. Saying something that is not...is not, especially to children who cannot understand that their parents just have an imaginary friend.

Being a child doesn't give them a free ticket to anything accept entering the pearly gates before the age of accountability.
Who rules the hen house the rooster or the fox? Who rules the penitentiary, the warden or the inmates? Your the parent, parent. Stop letting the idiotic rants of the liberal left be your guid to your childs salvation.
Make that child understand that the bible is an instruction book on how to get through this life without taking the life of those who pane you all your life to destroy your own soul.

Everyone, including both you and religous folks, teach their children the truth as they see it.
If you believed that anyone who is not saved will burn in hell forever, what kind of parent would you be if you didn't let your kid know about that? And as others pointed out, the child's choices are follow god, reject god, or hope that god doesn't exist. Just as you will try to influence your child to make the right choice, so will everyone else.

obeying God's laws....learning right from wrong...playing nice and sharing with others...
a parent does not tell a child they will burn...that is the same as telling a child about the boogy man...really dumb to scare a child before they can comprehend what is meant....
teaching a child about the love of God is the first important lesson in life.....
everyone knows that the wages of sin is death....

First of all, I have 2 children and when they were young, I never said they were going to burn if they did not obey the Bible- my 2 kids, both at the age of 5 accepted Christ, because they experienced the love of Jesus. A total difference. Now that they are older they understand that Jesus did keep them from hell.

Emphasizing the negative is not how to win people to Christ. That is what they call a "fire-escape" religion. I teach my daughter about Christ's love and how he will come back wake us up after we die, and we will live forever. This helps remove her fear of death that children naturally have, and it plants seeds of love for Christ in her heart. I teach her how to turn to Him when she is having trouble in life; I let her see me pray and I talk to her about why I'm praying. I never threaten my daughter with hell if she "doesn't believe". I only tell her, "People who don't love Jesus won't go to Heaven." She accepts that, because it is logical.

I grew up in a Christian church, and I haven't heard of anyone telling children they will burn. We have always taught kids about the love of Jesus and to obey God.
Where did you ever hear someone telling a child they will burn??? (i.e., what church was it? I'd be curious to know.)

We don't tell our children that they will burn if they don't follow the teachings of the Bible we just instruct them in what is correct and what they shall do to be saved.

what would you do if you found out your soul was facing damnation......would I'm sorry be your first response.....that kind of preaching that you mention is a fear tactic .....God wants your love and fear tactics should not be necessary

How about spreading the Gospel with compassion instead. Demonstrate to them your faith and help them to realize that they must make the faith their own through their own search that you can help guide them through. The decision has to be their own or it doesn't count!
