When I asked how has Christianity hurt the USA some of you said- Well Christians burned witches? hmm I thought Elvira of the darkness was still around?
Let's see the Crusades? that happened in what realitives lifetime?
Just trying to find out what Christians have done in the USA to hurt the way of life we have always known it to be?
Any facts to post in the last 100 years?

every time one of you opens your mouth about abortion, it sends the woman's lib movement back a few years, for one. Two, how many christian kids who are gay have grown up with horrible self loathing because of its teachings? lots. how about all the tax dollars wasted because your silly azzes want "inteligent design" taught in school?

They basically are a weak link. Here is a list of a few good things the christians have hindered or have tried to stop or intend to try to put an end too.(not in any particular order.)
1. Same sex marriages
2. Single parent and homosexual adoption after the people have been thoroughly checked out and no problems exist.
3. Allow @$$holes to run the country into the ground just because they claim they are follow christian.
4. Trying to ban movies(The Golden Compass) and books(Harry Potter) that aren't christian centered.
5. Overturn Roe v Wade
6. Trying to creep religion back into every single pore of societies skin like a bad rash and disrespecting and infecting anyone that doesn't want to be like them.
7. Try to squish out any form of true thought and self creativity by trying to label the creators.
8. Some christians even go as far as trying to condemn or demean others for not believing in their god.

Ok, first of all, twenty people died at the witch trials in Salem Mass. Your crack about an actress who plays a vampire on tv was stupid, unfunny, and rude.
Second of all, here you go.
Who wants to keep homosexuals from enjoying the same rights of every other American? Christians.
Who wants to violate the right to freedom of speech every time a book or movie with a message they don't like comes out? Christians.
Who wants to force all children, no matter what religion they are, to pray to their god in public schools? Christians.
Who burns down abortion clinics? Christians.

I was bothered on two occasions by Jesus freaks when I was simply trying to enjoy my day and go about my business.
Oh and those baptist freaks.....you know the ones who protest funerals. I'm sure they've caused a great deal of hurt.

I do not know about the USA and most Christians now are OK. However, it is not what they did over the last 100years - it what the fundies are trying to do now that scares me so.
To try to wipe out unbiased, fact and science based education is unforgivable.

Preventing a more timely response to the AIDS epidemic in the early 80s.
Preventing easy access to HPV vaccines.
Preventing cures by limiting stem cell research.
