If we take 'Christian' in its truest sense, it would be to help the atheist or to prevent the atheists views from hurting others. That's why I do it.
Also, you should know that there is no connection (at least to a Catholic) between evolution and '6 days' and the flood. It's a false choice to say either God created the world in 6 days or evolution is true.
Too bad we can't have a discussion because I'd love to know whether that was a real question : "Isn't religion all about blind faith, indoctrination and dogmatic behavior?" -- You have been indoctrinated if you think that.
Think in terms of true/false not I like/ I don't like :)

It's because when atheists start putting forward evolution, the theory implies that really, there's no need for a god at all to explain anything. He could have set up the rules of evolving life, but he's no longer required to have done so.
Sadly, beyond faith in God, there's no real strong argument to fall back on against such things. So they're stuck with the, er, 'less strong' arguments.

Because the vast majority excepts that silver and gold are shiny metals.
Also, no one is making argument that people who believe that silver and gold are shiney metals should shut up and keep their views to themselves and not try to force this idea of shineyness on the rest of us.
There are many powers at work in this country to try and shut up the religious and push them into a dark corner where they will not be seen or heard from and their hope is that the religious will just disappear.
Christians are called apon to profess their faith and to tell others of Christ. Not to force it on anyone, but to let them know what he did for those who are willing to listen.

I for one believe the Science is the observation and documentation of truth. Science and Christianity can easily coexist as long as you understand that God is not bound by human limitation.
"Isn't religion all about blind faith, indoctrination and dogmatic behavior?"
No. Is that what an Atheist told you?

Evolution is not strictly an atheist point of view.
I think it's amusing to watch people trying to disprove evolution with creationism (assuming that's the "fantasy-riddled arguments" you're talking about). I suppose they think the rest of us are dumb enough to believe that stuff. Call me a sadist, but I just love watching that fairy tale based pseudo-science crash and burn.
btw, I'm not atheist, but I do believe in evolution.

Because they need to discredit the facts that contradict their belief system so that they can be comfortable in their delusions.
As long as the argument stands up to the most cursory examination that is all they need. They can wave their 'proof' around and make all the facts and science just go away in their minds.

blind faith, indoctrination, and dogmatic behavior are all YOUR fantasies about us.

Evolution is not an "atheist" view. It is a view of certain branches of biology.
