i was under the impression that at the port of entry, pregnant foreigners will not be allowed to stay long enough til their due date.
from the articles on the internet, it seems that a lot of pregnant women who wanted to give birth in the United States has to go there under the disguise that they are not pregnant.

will proof of funding the childbirth be enough in the port of entry for the immigration officer to allow a pregnant woman to enter into the United States for the purpose of childbirth?

If giving birth in the US then your child would be a US citizen. However this would give you NO rights to a visa, green card, US citizenship yourself. Or the right to live or work in the USA in any shape or form due to the fact you have your child here. Your child will be able to sponsor you when they reach 21 years old.
Assuming you can get your doctor (from your home country) to give approval for you to fly in the second/third trimester you will have to ensure you have enough money or a comprehensive travelers health policy (standard policies do not cover birth/pregnancy) to pay for the hospital bill.
The cost for a normal birth with a 24 hour stay in hospital is $8,000 in my state. A c-section with a four day state is is around the $15,000 mark, again this will vary in each state, and also due to the out of pocket expenses that you will occur.

It is not illegal for a pregnant woman to visit the US, however, if you go to the the US with the intention of having a baby, it is looked down upon. Your length of stay will likely be limited, and you will likely be questioned as to your true purpose for visiting. There are many pregnant women that come here to have a baby, and leave the US without paying for the bill. Some pregnant women go to the US for child birth, just so the baby can obtain citizenship. It is not unheard of for a pregnant woman to be denied entry due to her wanting to have a baby here and not having sufficient funds or insurance.

Many people stated that if a women gives birth to a baby in the US, the baby automatically becomes a citizen. That used to be the case, but not any more. For example if a Mexican citizen gives birth to a baby here, the baby will be a Mexican citizen born in U.S. ground. NOT a US citizen.

Could you give a link? I think if someone is coming in on a visitors visa, they have to show intent not to stay. They would have to show strong ties to their country of origin. No way could they come in with just the intention of having a child.
As for someone who said that visitors get insurance for medical on a visitors visa, that does not incluse major hosptial expenses.

Hiring a lawyer for minor legal problems can be expensive, but there are websites like LawGuru, FindLaw and other places where you can get free legal advice. I found this website useful - http://www.uelp.org/freelegal.html

yes i believe it's legal to give birth anywhere except maybe china if you have other children., but if the same woman tried to enter with a noticeable pregnancy she could be refused entry.

It is incredibly dangerous for pregnant women to travel. It also costs thousands to give birth in a hospital here.

Of course it's legal for someone to give birth, no matter where they are from.
Also, under the 14th Amendment to the Constitution, that baby will be a US Citizen.

Yes she can have a baby here.
Now the question should be what nationality will it be.
It will be american.
Which is where the illegals get us.
Our government really needs to change this.
