Hi Everyone

I have a very eclectic taste in music, I was just wondering what sort of wedding music would be suitable,

I am getting wed next year and I have already advised the DJ of the sort of music I want played, everything from Jay -Z to Alice in Chains!

I am just wondering if the guests would be happy, I know we should be doing it for us, but my fiance and I are the hosts!

My fiance has also told me that he wants classical and the famous Nessun Dorma played as well.

What sort of music would you like played at a wedding reception?

Well how you won't please everyone but I would suggest to do a mix of everything if thats what people like. I plan to have my DJ do the same thing play songs from 70's, 80's, 90's and today's music at my reception. We have R & B, Hip hop, Rap, Jazz, Oldies, and Country being played at my wedding. Most of my family and friends listen to at least half of these types of music but always remember you won't please everyone. So just do a mix and have fun. Good Luck.

Yea...I am boring compared to you....but Kenny G is amazing....play him during dinner so people can eat in peace....I couldn't imagine listening to rap all night. Most people like oldies as well...even the young kids these days....stick to classic rock. Congrats and have a great wedding!

personally i would have the most fun with the same thing that you want.. listen it is absolutely impossible for you to make everyone happy with all the music.. or with anything at your wedding for that matter.. that is the reason that everyone says do what you want.. cuz if you dont do what you want, and you do what you think everyone else wants, there are still going to be people that arent happy.. and 2 of those people will be you and your fiance.. so really.. do what you want!

Play the easy going and fun songs when the older crowd is there. You can get into the heavier stuff and the club music when they all leave later in the night.

We played a little bit of everything (except loud metal & not any classical), that way everyone's happy. Sounds like that's what you're planning on doing. Good Choice.
