sodium or salt is a preservative so it basically helps the food have a longer shelf life also to do with taste.

because thwey wouldn't taste of anything other than cardboard without it!

You think the ordinary ones are bad, I researched low fat products once and weight watchers and other healthy eating brands of microwavable meals have more sodium and hydrogenated fat in them than ordinary processed foods!

It's all lies when they advertise it as healthy and that's why they tell you it can help you to lose weight as part of a balanced diet.

Think about it... if you have a balanced diet, you're going to lose weight! Leave these products alone!
